  • Comment: Interop with ReceiveFAX

Since you've reported this in IAXmodem's Bug Tracker it seems that you're saying that this represents a bug in iaxmodem. You've said that Asterisk crashes. So it seems to me that there's a bug in Asterisk, or at least in the ReceiveFAX plug-in feature. iaxmodem is the modem, that's all. HylaFAX drives the fax protocol. But I'm not sure how an Asterisk crash indicates any bug at all in...

  • Comment: Interop with ReceiveFAX

At the moment, I don't say it's a bug as I don't know yet if faxing from HYLAFAX/iaxmodem to ReceiveFAX is supported at all. From iaxmodem's point of view, should it work or not?.

  • Comment: Interop with ReceiveFAX

How, exactly, is this a bug in iaxmodem?.

  • Interop with ReceiveFAX

I'm sending twice the same file using Hylafax's sendfax app coupled with iaxmodem 1.2.0 (statically linked with its won Spandsp version). The first time I'm "dialing" a DID attached to Asterisk's ReceiveFAX application. The second time I'm dialing an internal extension attached to the same ReceiveFAX application : 1. sendfax/hylafax/iaxmodem ----> asterisk ----> dadhi ----> dahdi ---->...

  • Followup: RE: CallToken Support?

The CallToken support will need to come from libiax2. If the support exists in libiax2, then I just can update libiax2 in IAXmodem, and voila. Note, however, that the CallToken security feature was implemented by Asterisk developers knowing full-well that it would break backwards compatibility. One would think that they could have placed warnings at the end of the Asterisk ./configure...

  • CallToken Support?

Will CallToken support be added to IAXmodem? I lost a day of my life to a hylafax server that stopped working because of an "improvement" in security which required me to add an override to the IAX configuration in iax_general_custom.conf: calltokenoptional = 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 maxcallnumbers = 16382.

  • Followup: RE: How to configure Asterisk?

Try putting this in your iax.conf context for the iaxmodems: requirecalltoken=no.

  • Followup: RE: How to configure Asterisk?

Ok, this is what Asterisk CLI is showing... I started it before initiating an outbound fax and continued it until after Hylafax declared it requeued (due to failure of "no local dialtone"): I should point out that Hylafax+AvantFax+IAXmodem are on a separate machine from Asterisk -- and that outbound faxing worked perfectly while I used Elastix 1.5. After moving to 1.6 is when it stopped...

  • Followup: RE: How to configure Asterisk?

Hi Izrunas, In asterisk, try: core set debug 255 core set verbose 255 And then do you see it dial? Usually when something won't dial in asterisk, its due to the context or dialplan being incorrect, check that you have "context=" specified for the iax modems and that that context can actually dial out in your dialplan. Paul.

  • Followup: RE: How to configure Asterisk?

I am getting the "no local dialtone" error, but the Asterisk CLI has nothing at all showing even an attempt to make the outbound call-- despite all IAXmodems showing up in "iax2 show peers" as properly registered. I can also receive faxes with the same modems with no issues.
