My HP ScanJet 3400C gives vertical lines of a lighter color in the scans.
I have tried the patches backend-20050128_1.tar.gz and backend-20060204.tar.gz.
The vertical lines appear in scans made with testtool scanimage, xscanimage and xsane under SuSE 9.0, kernel version 2.4.21-238-default, gcc version 3.3.1.
Under Windows the scans are file (no vertical lines).
I suspect it is a calibration problem of the CCD array.
Is this a known problem and does anybody know a solution.
