This is a driver for PCI encryption cards using the Hi/fn 7751 encryption processor, including cards from GTGI, NETSEC, Invertex and Hi/fn themselves. Supports all card modes and functions, including encryption unlock and compression.

It's a long story; basically, GTGI needed a driver for Linux that was more stable than what was represented here, and so we went with a port of the OpenBSD hifn(4) driver instead. Since then, we've received several requests for Windows 2000 support, and this driver *could* fill that need, but it needs quite a bit of work. As for the state of the code at the moment, it's somewhere between alpha and beta quality for the NT build, just beyond beta for the Unix builds (but in sore need of updating; this was last touched when Linux 2.0 and FreeBSD.3x were current). The NT build was never used beyond testing purposes; it works for small amounts of data, but there's still lockup problems. Most of these problems were fixed in the OpenBSD driver; it would be nice if they could be added here. Some help with porting to WDM would also be nice, as this driver is meant to compile on NT 4.0 and I dont have the time at the office (or the tools at home) to contribute at the moment. As always, if anyone wants to help out, you're welcome to join in. Drop me a line and let me know.
