The intention of the Home-Automation-Usability-System project is to create a flexible system for bus-styled communication between micro-controllers and a server-application, including hardware layouts and PIC code for the micro-controllers.

Hi again. I know, it has been a while since the last activity, but we are working realy hard on the next-generation of this project. Finn and i decided to release the new project under a different name, because it will be a very serious project where HAUS is like a goofing-around thing. Whatever, as Finn is back in FL, i'm pretty sure we will find the time to make a short demonstration video for HAUS in the next weeks. Hardware News: Microchip has finally released a new MAX 485 chip that toggles between sending- and receiving mode by itself....YEEEEHAAAAA. So we will no longer need to use the RTS line for switching that..which will result in an speed improvement > 100%. Lucky day :) This and the new protocol we are currently developing will give the new project sooo much power. Not to forget the wonderful plugin-system (the server-side for the plugin-system is almost done).
We released the old files that we developed in the past. Currently we are working on a new version of the project (we made changes to everything, the protocol, hardware-structure and server-software). Well, but everything in this release is documented and working, so if you like to tingle, you can start building your own home-automation system. Following applications had been tested and worked fine with this release: - Binary I/O (switch, relay / LED etc.) - Infra-Red in - DMX out Everything you need can be found on the download page, the hardware-layouts and circuit diagrams will follow in 1 or 2 days. This old version only supports RS232. As RS232 only works reliable within short distances, we developed a converter that converts from RS232 to RS485, see the hardware-package for this when it is out. We will release a demonstration video, but it may take some while until it is available
