Resolved in version 1.8 a long time ago.

Ok I think I have fixed both the problems in the version 1.14 in CVS.
It will use the suggested name for folder creation but it will use the actual url reported to retrieve the data.
Only for file not found cases now the script will report it as an error and continue. I ran the script on the Glyph group and it did throw a bunch of file not found.
Meanwhile I have also filed a help...

The file access problem is sporadic. Currently, access looks good.

The idea behind aborting was to avoid getting blocked as a spammer by Yahoo. I never knew they were missing files in their interfaces. If someone could get me access to one of the problem groups I could try to push out a change in the next few days.

Hmm the group seems to be more of a class room kind of thing - I don't know whether I should even try to join it. Anyone cares to give me a temporary userid / passwd.

I have seen frequent problems with file access on yahoogroups over the last few months.

The group is GlyphStudy. It is a group for learning to read ancient Egyptian.

Which group is this if I may know - I am very surprised Yahoo is having file not found errors. I think I should join and try to download a few files before I commit my changes.

Here is an example of the first problem. In the URL there are two spaces "%20%20" between EGYPTIAN and STUDY. The accompanying text has only one space. This results in a file not found error. The fix I made obtains the $file_name directly from the URL and should avoid this type of problem.
