GPSDproxy is a small program which reads GPS data from a running gpsd process (http://gpsd.berlios.de/) and forwards it to a remote server via an UDP connection. GPSDproxy is intended to be run on GPS enabled mobile devices.

GPSDproxy release 0.0.4
Client gpsdproxy is unchanged, but several improvements to the gpsdproxy_server script. It is still a simple Python script, but now it forks into background, logs messages to syslog, authenticates client, does some error handling. Minor changes to database schema init_pgsql.sql.
