    It will be useful to have a benchmark option. It may be script which takes current pattern and given number of generations and performes evolution in the fastest mode with different algorithms. Statistics may include time of the evolution for each algorithm and average number of generations per second.

    Great program! I'd like to second the request for breakpoints -- they would be VERY useful when trying to isolate specific events in long-running patterns.

    It would be very easy to write a Lua/Python script to set break points. (And please use the Tracker facility for making feature requests.)
