As usual, first some questions.
What versions do you run?
- Mac OS X
- GIMP

The font issue never occured on any Snow Leopard version. It was only on the first 2.6.7 release for Leopard, but it's fixed quite a long time ago, since 2.6.7-p1 for Leopard, released on 2009-08-17. So it seems that you used some old version of GIMP. From where did you get this? It's not available on...

That does sound odd. I'm afraid all I can recommend is to reinstall Gimp. Aside from that, one of the Gimp experts here might be able to offer more help.
Good luck!

Dear telecommunicate. I found the Application Support folder, but there was no gimp folder in it. Maybe that is part of the problem?.

"~" is a standard abbreviation for your username, so if your username is "user", you'd look for that folder in /users/user/Library/Application Support/Gimp/gtkrc.

Hi
I have the same problem large letters in the menu. I tried GIMP 2.6.7-p1-snow Leopard. I cannot even find the ~/Library/Application Support/Gimp/gtkrc file. thegimp folder doesn´t appear in the Application Support folder. I deleted a file called gtkrc, but that was located at /Applications/Gimp.app/Contents/Resources/etc/gimp/2.0, which probably isn´t the same.

Hi skl,
Wavelet Denoise is a powerful plugin to reduce chroma noise (http://registry.gimp.org/node/4235). Is it possible to add this plugin to the Gimp on OSX Bundle?
On Leopard i used a gimp version compiled with macports, i compiled the plugin there, too. But i have some troubles to compile gimp on SnowLeopard. Your Bundle works fine on SL, but i am not able to build the plugin...

Issue:
When launching Gimp.app the directory for the gegl plug-ins is created in
"$HOME/.local/share/Library/Application Support/Gimp"
instead of
"$HOME/Library/Application Support/Gimp"
Cause:
The current patch (rev. 62) for 'gegl/gegl-init.c' doesn't work as expeced - 'g_get_user_data_dir' returns '~/.local/share' according to the XDG Base Directory Specification: «If $XDG_DATA_HOME...

??? Why did you install XDarwin? This is really outdated. AFAIK it's for 10.3 aka Panther.
The X11 version which is shipped with Snow Leopard will be sufficient. There's no need to install anything else. Did you read this page (the right column about X11) ?

To give you help I need more information. What happens if you launch GIMP?
But...
