  Just doesn't seem to work with UTF-8 files. Specifically having non-ascii utf8 characters in msgid strings seems to lead to "iconv failure". At least it did work with some simple tests at first. Win32 could definitely use an implementation of iconv/gettext, but this doesn't seem to be it as of now.
