• geniusvp2 1.0.16.1 released

  geniusvp2 is a SANE (http://www.sane-project.org/) backend for the Genius ColorPage-Vivid Pro II flatbed scanner. Currently, only the parallel port version is supported. No, it's not a stable release (yet). This release is exactly the same 0.2.1 release, but repackaged in a self-containable tarball. The new version scheme means: 1.0.16.n is the n'th geniusvp2 release and it's compatible with sane-backends-1.0.16. This means that you don't need to patch the original sane-backends tarball anymore, just unpack this package and compile it. This makes it easy to test and use the backend. Note that you still need to install the sane-backends package separately, because SANE frontends need some files from this package. Debian users will find it easy to build .deb packages from the source tarball, using the "debuild" or "dpkg-buildpackage" commands. In this case, you need to download the .dsc file too.
