I have the exact same problem here...wish updates would come out...nothing new since 2007?! Damn.
I'm using the windows version. Worked fine on my PC. After I uploaded it, the images are all screwed up. I'd really like to use the newer version since the older one has stopped letting me update.

I have just downloaded and installed GeneWeb 5.00 on Windows. I had previously installed GeneWeb 4.09 (it is still there). I have downloaded a classic release of GeneWeb 5.0 and unzipped it into Program Files.
Next I copied the new gwd.exe into my IIS directory, replacing the previous version already there. I then edited gwd.arg to point to the new program folder.
I can open the database...
