GDS3D is a cross-platform 3D hardware accelerated viewer for chip layouts. Read standalone GDS files or use the Cadence plugin for easy integration with your Virtuoso environment.
Developed by PhDs of the IC-Design Group, University of Twente, The Netherlands
- Interactive 3D flying through layout
- High performance, high FPS rendering of big layouts on consumer hardware
- Hardware accelerated on many platforms
- GDSII file input
- Enable / disable layers
- Browse through cell hierarchy
- Measurement ruler
- Explode geometry
- Wire tracing
- Cadence plugin
That is simply brilliant work you have done. It prove that the multi $ companies in this IC CAD are well at sleep. And that there are lots of work to do in this area. I look forward to see a community to back it up. Feature list: net trace, extraction, 3d connextion control.
Thanks for Gds3d, it's the best!
gds3d works great
Very nice little project. Got the docs out from gds2pov and managed to customize my process; so then i surfed around my own chip. :) Got ugly fps at first (~2@1M) but flattening/merging redundant geometries prior to stream-out of the gds helped it up to ~30. A bit sad that the source isnt released.
