Sorry, I have not been keeping up with PGV releases. I am still at 4.1.6. It looks like that is almost a year old already. I have to upgrade and see if the CGI interface still works...
I should also admit that I never got the merge feature working as well as I wanted. Make sure you make a backup before merging.

Reading other posts it seems that GDBI dosent work well with PGV 4.2.2: Should I be using an earlier version of PGV and if so which would be best? (My aim is to merge small .ged into the main .ged on PGV site). All suggestions welcome pls.

If you are looking for a simple Java GEDCOM parser try the JavaGedcom library that is included in the GedLynk project. https://sourceforge.net/projects/gedlynk/files/.

I am brand new to GDBI and fairly new to Java in general. I searched for a GEDCOM parser written in Java, and found GDBI. However, I am having trouble figuring out which jar I need to download and what to import to use the parser in my project.

Thanks, John. I don't think anyone checks GDBI before releasing a new version of PGV. The interface was broken the last time I upgraded, which was around version 4.1.6.
