This project, gcpuploader, helps you to upload files created by your Garmin fitness GPS (.tcx, .fit, or .gpx files) to the Garmin Connect web site (connect.garmin.com) once they are extracted from the device. It was developed because of Garmin's utter lack of support for Linux OS. This Python project has been tested in a limited capacity in Python under Windows XP as well.
**Gcpuploader may become obsolete because of a new project which performs the functions of Garmin's ANT Agent for Linux platforms. See https://sourceforge.net/p/gcpuploader/wiki/Home/ for more information.**
This project was developed under Linux on Python 2.6.5. Limited testing has been performed under Windows on Python 2.7.2.
The original Gcpuploader expands on foundation work from Chmouel Boudjnah (https://github.com/chmouel/python-garmin-upload).
As of 03/01/2014 work from https://github.com/cpfair/tapiriik was heavily leveraged to address changes in the Garmin Connect web site.
- Upload individual files and set the 'activity name' on Garmin Connect.
- Upload multiple files to Garmin Connect - convenient for initial data import.
- Gives status of each file upload - SUCCESS, FAIL, EXISTS
- Various levels of verbose output
Brilliant! Thanks for the great app!
Nicely done. Simple to use, easy to integrate into automation scripts. Would like some more logging in the event of errors, but :D
Thanks for Gcpuploader, it's perfect!
