GCALDaemon is a Java program that offers two-way synchronization between Google Calendar and various iCalendar (RFC 2445) compatible calendar applications (Sunbird, Rainlendar, Apple iCal, Lightning, Evolution, KDE Kontact, Vista Calendar, etc).

    I've been using it for a year and a half for now. I push events from ics file to a google calendar to be able to receive sms alerts on my non-smart phone It is very useful since I cannot directly bind my calendar to a google calendar (already synchronized with an in-house calendar) Five stars!
