Claude,
Can your Linux Galleon mount an export from the the ReadyNAS?
Here's what I'm thinking. If your Galleon Linux server can mount a ReadyNAS mount point, the data would be on the ReadyNAS, and would still be delivered to the TiVo via the Galleon via the Linux NFS mount point.

Claude,
Yea, I tried SW RAID5 for awhile, but ran into much the same problem that you appear to be running into, namely any hiccup in the hard disk system will cause the RAID to fall down and possibly result is loss of data.
Figuring that I know more about the data than any automated system, I ended up using the EVMS (Enterprise Volume Management -...

Erik,
First try removing the files in /tmp/ It might be the /tmp/+JKxxx.tmp or maybe it was the /tmp/jnaxxxx.tmp files. You also want to get rid of the /tmp/org.lnicholls.galleon.* files. Try that first and restart galleon. If that doesn't work then you'll have to get rid of the cache info in /usr/share/galleon/data which actually points to /var/lib/galleon/data at least on my system...

Claude,
Yes, I rebooted the TiVo as well as the galleon daemon, but to no avail.
I too am running galleon on a Linux file server (3 TB! storage under EVMS management), and Galleon has been really solid for months at a time, only recently have there been minor issues. I too have a Windows box with TiVo Desktop, which has no problems with the 'Now Playing' update.
If I understand your...

I run Galleon on my Linux fileserver and every once in a while it will stop updating. The first thing to try is restarting the application but sometimes something gets confused and I have to remove all of it's data and tmp files and that always works but you lose all your history.
BTW, I have 2 networked TiVos plus TiVo Desktop on a windoze box so I've been able to isolate the problem to...

Noticed something recently. The Galleon 'Now Playing' program list on the TiVo isn't updating. I've got three programs that I've recorded on the TiVo that I want to download to Galleon, but they are not showing up in the list.
Is the 'Reload' configuration parameter on the File -> Properties dialog box related to the frequency in which this list is reloaded? If not, what does this...

If you are running the configuration utility on your laptop, then you are trying to administer a Galleon that is running on the laptop.
If you are trying to administer a Galleon running on the Linux machine, then you need to run the caonfiguration utility there. Not on your laptop.

I recently updated from JAVA 6 Update 7 (build 1.6.0_07-b06) to JAVA 6 Update 17 (build 1.6.0.11-b03). After doing so the Java Virtual Machine Launcher reports the following error if I try to run Galleon executables: "Could not find the main class: org.lnicholls.galleon.gui.Galleon. Program will exit.".
Galleon About reports "Version 2.5.5, Java Version 10.0-b23". I am using Windows XP...

The following page indicates that upon running "make install" on Linux, Galleon "will be installed under /usr/share/galleon":
http://galleon.sourceforge.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=92&Itemid=51
According to the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard, /usr/share/galleon is not the best place to install Galleon. See:

Not so much a bug as it is a reminder... the NWS (National Weather Service) CAPS XML feed is changing, and I believe the one that is currently being used will stop working in December. They are changing it to an ATOM feed.
