The regular expression is a correct one. But be sure that it you are matching the full path of the file not the plain file name. [^~]$ does not work with full paths like "C:\output\~file.pd~".

The verb is something that you usually don't need and it is used with combination of shell execute method. The verb depends on the executable or the document specified in the "process executable" field. The default verb is "open". Other verbs might be "print", "edit" and "explore". By specifying a different verb the "process executable" can be opened, printed, edited or explored.
