  • please add another PID

I need to add the 0xE2E6 PID into the ftdi_sio module for product: http://www.futurlec.com/RS232_Converter.shtml. Thinking I'd add it myself and submit a patch, I followed the instructions given here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/251952 But I only get errors when trying to load the module.

  • Comment: on the fly support for new vendor/product ids

I'll second this idea. Some way to add new PIDs would be very useful!

  • on the fly support for new vendor/product ids

FTDI chips are widely used and unfortunately many manufacurers choose to change vendor/product ids, making it impossible for the driver to detect, that it is in fact an ftdi. Currently this can only be solved by recompiling the driver. I suggest to give an on the fly possibility similar to the em28xx driver: echo eb1a 2821 > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/em28xx/new_id.

  • Add support for ELV550

Hallo, I'm using the weather station ELV550. This station contains the ftdi chip. Please could you add the support of this station in you source? I recompile the modul with the following data: Vendor-ID: 0x18ef Product-ID: 0xe004 This vendor-ID is in opposite to the other devices of ELV. Thank you, Juergen.

  • Not working with 64 bit Linux

Using the latest version of 64 bit Ubuntu Linux, (2.6.x), the driver does not generate a "/dev/ttyUSB0" device.

  • adding support for FT232R

Hi! I`ve build a device with the new FT232RL. On WinXP it works properly, so no there is no hardware failure. On Linux, kernel 2.4.26 it was recognized as FT232BM and it doesn`t work because the output level of the chip is only about 1V or so. I`ve also tryed ftdi_sio v1.3.5r (from www.chip45.com), but it dosn`t help. Maybe it`s possible to add support for FT232R so that i can...

  • Releasing whole driver not just patches now.

The webpage will continue to have the submitted patch to linux but I am using the sourceforge file release service to release the entire driver. This should make it easier for people to use the driver on non-tested kernels.
