  I needed to switch my USB controled power plug using my PC. The power plug is switching on or off weather 5v USB power is present. TFDI FT232R chip, some solder and this program made the trick.

  Have a look at the source code in SVN if you need the source code. Or download the binary. The picture archive is called preview, so i'ts just a preview.
