• FreePM 1.0b5 Released

• FreePM 0.5.2b (MedMan) Released

  Free Practice Management 0.5.2b (MedMan) was released today. The code name "MedMan" was used for this version because a physician can implement FreePM as a patient medication management system via a seperate interface included in this version. As FreePM goes through it's incremental beta period. The prescription writing / medication management system is ready for use. The full FreePM interface though is rather complex if all you want to do is use the parts that are complete. By appending MedMan/ onto the URL once FreePM is installed the user is presented with a much simpler interface that still allows access to the patient medication management portion. Any patient records that are created with this version are completely compatible with future versions. Therefore an office can implement the prescription writer and medication manager and then upgrade as new features are complete, without worrying about having to reenter patient data. • FreePM at AMIA

  FreePM was displayed at the American Medical Informatics Symposium in Los Angeles. The reception to an open source alternative was quite high. • FreePM 0.5.1b Release

  A new beta release has been posted. This release incorporates the patch from 0.5.0b and has a greatly reduced file size. The ICD9 codes were removed since they have no impact on the current beta modules (patient registration, formulary and prescription writing). This was done because lower end machines with Win9x could not import the FreePM folder. A new install procedure will be developed to allow lower end machines to add the codes a folder at a time.
