A free, open source, "on-the-fly" (OTFE) transparent disk encryption program. Using this software, you can create one or more "virtual disks" on your PC - anything written to which will be automatically, and securely, encrypted before being store
DoxBox is an already used name for multiple apps & internet resources. FreeOTFE was promoted as cross-platform, Linux & MS versions of windows. I guess I'll have to keep looking for a cross-platform USB stick encryption app. One does not "google", one does a Search, e.g. Kleenex is a brand name not a description of all nose-tissues. (Yes, I refuse to sell-out to corporations trying to borrow credibility by confusing a brand with a process.)
This is just to say I have relaunched the FreeOTFE project as 'DoxBox' (the name change was necessary because of the licence). It now runs on Windows 7 (with a small issue) You can find a discussion by googling 'doxbox encryption'.
FreeOTFE provides very good security and an extremely intuitive user interface which is easy to use, and adds a new (secure) disk drive. For more advanced users, it also offers a *lot* of security options and gives complete control. Cross platform and supports Windows, Linux and Windows Mobile PDAs
