Please note that you must have GiGi installed to compile the source -- GiGi is not common among any operating systems and you will likely have to install it manually. It can be found on sourceforge (why they don't simply integrate the GiGi with FreeOrion through git/svn is a mystery to me -- especially sizne at least tzlaine is working on both projects).
