  • AMD64 Nightly Builds

    There was anew Nightly Build uploaded on Jan 5th however the AMD64 builds seem to 0.7RC2 Build 4910 again. Can we get an AMD64 build to the same level as the i386 (ie Build 4967) as soon as possible. Thanks Chris.

  • RAIDZ storage strategy w/ 7 1TB drives

    I have an old P4 machine and 3 existing 1TB drives that I want to use in a FreeNAS build. I use all 3 drives for general storage with one acting as a MythTV storage directory. Needless to say, all drives are approaching capacity, so I ordered 4 1TB drives to start off the new build.   • Comment: Can't access from Win7 via wireless

    Solved! The problem was MTU size in Windows. After reducing it from 1500 to 1430 (it may be varied, of cosue) the problem disaapear!

    No, you can't software-raid the OS drive. You can set-up a cron job to copy(dd) the OS partition on a different location.

    The way your question is phrased, I'm not understanding if you don't have a CD/DVD burner, or just don't have software capable of burning a .iso file to the disc. If you have a CD/DVD burner, you can get a really small but effective burning software called CD BurnerXP. I know the name says XP but it's just a name -- I've used it with no problems on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7...

  • Free NAS CD/DVD
