At frapsforum.com, we get a lot of requests for help with poor
performance when capturing with Fraps, or trouble with the
video files once they're made. We, the volunteers here, have
always been going back and forth: "what's your operating
system," "what kind of hard drive," etc, etc. This is getting
a bit tiresome and error-prone, so I have prepared this
program to gather the information for us automatically.
The existing hardware information programs either did not
include all the information we are interested in, or they
report too much information for our needs.
Run the program. The Hardware Check main window will apear,
with a popup over it or nearby, asking you to "please be
patient." Gathering the information sometimes (not often)
takes some time to complete. Finally, the popup says "Done!;"
click OK to see the report. Click the Copy button to copy
report the to the clipboard.
Users can contribute their own translations for all the text
in Hardware Check. Read the the instructions <App>\Lang\-
template-po.txt and please let me know if you try it. Your
translation can be in the next distribution!
I hope this proves useful to the Fraps user community!
