TTX is a tool to convert OpenType and TrueType fonts to and from XML. FontTools is a library for manipulating fonts, written in Python. It supports TrueType, OpenType, AFM and to an extent Type 1 and some Mac-specific formats.
I used TTX to create a tool for my mandala project that, after some manual pre-processing, decomposes glyphs in a font into individual strokes (composites). Thanks, BM
I've only used TTX, but it is very handy and a great idea. I wish someone would write a free graphical editor using this stuff, though...
very good project, thanks!
