I'm sorry to say that Foing is dead, and has been for over 5 years. Version 0.7.0 will most likely be the very last, despite compatibility issues with newer phpBB versions. I just can't find the time to work on it anymore. For what it's worth I enjoyed making Foing very much; hopefully there are some people out there who have enjoyed using it.

If this is still an issue. I have had to deal with this.
Here is how I fixed it:
Go to the foing administration and click on: configuration
the first field says:
Remote getid3() location
Location of the remote_getid3.php you wish to use for mp3 information fetching. You MUST specify a correct location if you wish to add mp3s at all.
In the textbox put...

SOme mp3s will not be allowed to be added, no matter
what I do. Others it will allow. No visible reason it
doesn't show up. I dumped this app because of it...

I am using phpbb2 2.0.11 and a modded version from phpbb2.de called phpbb2 1.5 Plus

I think it has to do with the commons.php file.

phpbb forum doesn't read the foing template, in the
default templates folder of forum!!!so 'install' voice
does not appear inside forum's management styles admin.
the only way for displaying contents of foing
templates, is copying fiiles inside templates folder in
to a pre-existing template folder.
All this allows foing cms works, but forum remains
without precedents graphics...

I have phpbb installed to the root directory of my site, so the entire site is in phpbb. i have tried every configuration that i can think of for the "phpBB directory relative to foing" and nothing works. it just keeps telling me "could not find an installed copy of phpBB.
go back and check if you've got the phpBB directory right."
any help would be greatly appreciated !
