It would probably save a lot of effort to just post a diff of the CodecRaw.as between svn release and fixed version here so whoever wants can patch their copy without a bunch of emailing, at least pending the release of the new version. Thanks!

  • Viewer: how to make use of logFunction?

Hello forum, FlashLight is a great piece of software, though there's one thing that I really don't like about it: without "debug" enabled for the Flash Movie, a user (using the autoconnect-feature) has no chance to know if an error occurred (e. g. a socket error due to the VNC host being unavailable, or an authz error due to an invalid password), or if the connection is still being...

  • Dependency on Flash player platform?

I embedded Flashlight VNC 1.2.0 in an existing Flex 3 application and got it working fine, except for one thing: one user is using an Ubuntu 9.04 desktop, Gnome 2.26.1, Flash player 10.0.32.18, debugging version. When running another vnc viewer from the same machine, everything works fine as well. He gets a black screen only, whereas the same application on Windows Vista as well as Mac OSX...

I am a newb and I have no idea how to set up the policy server. Can you provide a slightly more detailed help on this please? Also, your FAQ states that "Configure Flash Security Sandbox (look for "flash security settings" on the Internet) or host the swf on a HTTP server on the computer running the VNC Server" I did just taht; hosted the SWF on the same machine as...

We looked at SSL support in Flashlight VNC because our solution needs to work across high-security networks. In the end the Flash socket model proved to be a problem because it is IMO implemented poorly. The Flash socket policy file requests ended up getting denied by network policy themselves. We ended up implementing an HTTP wrapper option to pass through firewalls, and this solution could...

Marco, I also am looking forward to the new version of Flashlight. We have a project that is going to require SSL as someone else mentioned above. We want to use a technique similar to this: [http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-sslvnc.html][1] except of course we would rather use your flash VNC client. It seems that there is no native SSL support in flex but there are some...

Hi Marco, Just wondering if you have a sense of when the new version will be ready. We moved ahead with implementing hextile in the current version but had to make some changes to the codec abstraction model in the 1.2 version to deal with the tile-based layout in hextile versus the layered version that tight uses. We're making progress and can share what we have implemented if it will help.
