Based on user choices, "snow flakes" fall from the top of the screen. flakes is based on FuzzyFlakes for Linux and has a configuration utility that makes it highly customizable.

Well, I had a version 1.5 ready to go really.. then.. I got to experiment with what I would like to do with a version 2.0.. and got most of it implemented. So It might be a little while, but a new and improved flakes 2.0 is coming. Lately though, I've been working constantly on bizzle gooey. That's what I decided to call my branch off of BSGUI. There is a TON of new stuff I'm adding and I hope to release it as a separate project (need to check license stuff). I'm not going to give away much in the way of what will be in flakes 2.0 (or bslugi 1.0 for all that matters). But, I will give a taste: https://sourceforge.net/dbimage.php?id=133707 Why yes, that IS flakes running on linux without wine.
I'm working on a new version, prolly gonna be 1.5. I already have added 2 features that should have probably been around since the start: Sway and Import/Export. I'm playing with some other features and generally improving bizzlegooey (bslgui). I have no idea when I'll have this done.
The promised new release of flakes has come. go check it out in Download! big changes: fixed some bugs and added color choosers.
Changes since 1.0: * Ditched the sliders only thing for the colors.. I spent a rediculous amount of time getting that ColorChooser control working in bsgui (or bslgui as I've come to call it). * Fixed a few bugs: * All sets are available to the use random on start feature * if you're using HUGE flakes, they no longer disappear/appear on screen; they start off screen and disappear when off screen. * Requires you to name your new set * Removed the non-functioning Revert button * added a whole bunch of new sets. * probably a few others

I have an update on the way, probably gonna be flakes 1.5. I'm going to work out the bugs left over from 1.0 and add a few features. Already implemented: HSV color chooser instead of just RGB sliders... I've been working on this off and on for the last few months and a few nights ago I had a breakthrough and finished it this morning. To be done: There's an odd bug with the Revert button, Random will never be included when determining what random set to use, Make sure that the last set in the list will be included in the "use random set" (never was sure if it ever was...) I have some cool Ideas for a 2.0: Shape of the points of the flakes (rounded, pointed, etc.), Fall style (sway, wind, etc), perspective (at least, I want to see if it's cool if it's like you're staring at the sky), changing colors, maybe some kind of visualization (... long shot ...) If you have any ideas for 2.0, lemme know.
