Locates files on your computer or network. Like locate on steroids. Indexes not only all the files in your filesystems, but also those inside archives, filesystem images, and disk images as well. The option "-ignore_readdir_race" on find gets rid of error messages caused by files that have been deleted since the directory was read by find and also some weird Mac filenames. The option is not supported on older versions of find and should be removed.
It's finally here. Try it out and report any errors not directly the cause of your "tar -tv" output not being the same as mine , which is from slackware 12. Check for any environment variables or aliases that might change the output format. The tar utility will not be used in future releases as I'm already working on reading the files directly which will be much faster (but not for gz, bz2, etc.) as well.
