This project aims to develop a method to use runit and SysV init to enable parallel service startup during boot for Fedora Linux. Standard Fedora Init scripts will be ported to runit init scripts maintaining full functionality. Docs are in the wiki.

release 0.1.1 of fedora fast boot using runit
A proof of concept release has been uploaded today. It is ready to run with some configuration but works well for about 70 odd services on a standard fedora 8 install.a 40-50% boot speed improvement can be had for a smal investment in time with no loss of backwards compatibility.
