Hey -
it totally worked when I disabled the sound. Thank you so much! I thought it was all over.
You're the best.

Your savegames should be in a subfolder of ~/.exult. In Finder menu click on "Go to" -> folder-> enter ~/.exult
Look there for the savegames and upload the right one here (or send it to dominus@users.sourceforge.net - I'D prefer it if you upload it here, though).
If you are still using the 1.2 release it could be that the bug is already fixed, though. I'll test.
Also try to disable music...

With much help from Marzo and Willem, I made a patch to add CoreMIDI to Exult. This was done by combining the existing CoreAudio driver with the CoreMIDI driver from ScummVM, so the copyright of the CoreMIDI drivers is not correct, but I wasn't sure how that is handled.
It works with my MT32 and CM64.
NOTE: At the moment Exult on OS X suffers from this bug...

This affects all Midi drivers that have the option to convert/mt32, and also the MT32Emu driver.
Uncommenting #543 in XMidiFile.cpp 'events[i]->decerementCounter();' prevents the crash but that's not a good solution, I guess.

I can confirm, that the latest SDL 1.2.14 and Exult don't work well together. On OS X I have the same behavior, on my Windows 7 VM also. Curiosly, my XP VM does handle switching fullscreen/windowed mode but has the same problems with the point and opengl scaler.

Hey. I am writing because every time I play Serpent Isle, it crashes the moment I compete the test of purity. I've tried playing it every way, completing each part in a different order, etc, but it always quits unexpectedly. I also have tried replaying the game from way earlier and saving over recent games to try to override some mistake I may have made, but nothing works.
I'm running on a...

I can start Exult in fullscreen mode, but if I switch to window, I cannot switch back to fullscreen, either with alt-enter or ticking the box in the game options. The only way to get fullscreen again is to quit and start Exult again. I am running Exult in Windows XP with Service Pack 3, and my display driver is Geforce 8600 GT with latest drivers.
