I was updating the firmware on my firewire drive (which happens to be plugged into my mac, and have one ext3 filesystem on the external, and one on the internal)
I think this is a special case, but maybe you can make use of the backtrace for the osx supported download. This happened after I exited the firmware update, and I realised there was a mounted disk on my desktop. I ejected it...
