Expect is a tool for automating interactive applications such as telnet, ftp, passwd, fsck, rlogin, tip, etc. Expect is also useful for testing these same applications.
I have deemed compiling this on AIX is not possible. After compiling tcl, expect looks back to where the source was for the tcl private headers. I've moved the private headers into the install include directory, but expect still looks to the tcl source dir. I've tried setting the LDFLAGS and CFLAGS. May be a wonderful program, but the installer is total junk. There is also little to no support. I tried hitting the home page, which basically states, don't bother me, buy the book. However I'm sure the book doesn't go through compiling it. I have decided to use the AIX toolbox version and throw in the towel on attempting to compile it. Wouldn't be worth the time and effort to re-engineer the install.
