EtherApe is a graphical network monitor modeled after etherman. Featuring Ethernet, IP, TCP, FDDI and Token Ring modes, it displays network activity graphically. Hosts and links change in size with traffic. Color coded protocols display.

+ good user-friendly design (non-bloat); + dynamic monitoring (offers the big picture); + satisfactory "out-of-the-box" settings; - limited flexibility (few predefined capture modes); - no offline browsing user's manual (no explanations in filter syntax); - inaccurate data output (verified with wireshark); => with all setbacks in functionality, I would recommend it as a side software (graphical assistance) pistol.leo@gmail.com
