ffretv-backend is in transition from Linux--->
*The Current Hardware Reference Platform is the RaspberryPi2 on NetBSD 7(armv7hf)
*tuner Hardware will be limited to network devices only at first. *Perhaps more later with help from the video4linux package "webcamd" from FreeBSD.
"Arm" is the only arch I'm interested in working on for this backend project.
Plenty of others are working on intel/amd x86/64.
I will switch/use or upgrade to whatever ARM reference hardware with low power , that works best for this projects design goals.
Current Intentions/Design Goals:
-Remote and/or Rural usage scenarios.
-Designed for OFFLINE USE. EIT/Embedded Scheduling only. No network connection needed.
-Solar Power Design assembly model.
-Ultra Low Power (2-10Watt Range @5vdc)
-Solid State Storage only.
-HDTV -ATSC Over The Air (OTA) Specific*with planning for DVB-T as ATSC updates
- Stable Base Build that doesn't change too often.
- Network Device Only Support such as iptv/hdhr.
- Offline/Disconnected use with EIT Schedule data OTA.
- Lightweight/Minimalist Embedded Code selection and configuration
