My efax don't work anymore. I think is because I moved folders faxin and faxout form /home.
Right?
I delete also the uri of device from the properties of faxprinter. What can I do to recover the date?
Thanks.

I know that faxes are low resolution but I am getting poor fax images from anything scanned. Faxes originating from a text editor or word processor are legible. I tried many different scanner settings and the JPG images are very clear. When I print-to-file to produce a postscript file, the image degrades a bit. When I fax the postscript version, the image degrades further.
I've just...

I don't know your hardware so I cannot say whether any other hard configuration arrangement would be desirable, and I doubt there is any specific configuration program for your modem. If it works, I should leave it.

As usual, your understanding of this system proves to be excellent. Flipping off dip switch #5 allowed your software to control the number of rings.
Are there any other tweaks you might recommend? Does linux or usrobotics have a configuration screen for external modems?.

Explicitly choosing Class 1 in this case works because where a modem offers both Class 1 and Class 2, Auto mode will choose Class 2, as in Class 2 the modem does more of the processing. However, in this case the firmware Class 2 implementation does it incorrectly. Presumably the windows software you were using chooses Class 1 where the modem offers both classes of operation.
I don't know...

OK. That did it. Good thinking.
Now why wouldn't and AUTOmatic setting be as good as CLASS1? Go figure.
Thanks for all the help. -John
p.s. Would you know anything about hardware? Would disabling the AutoAnswer dip switch on the modem make the ring count more effective?.
