Hi,
I've been using echidna's sources for quite a while in my own project (jsh, see http://www.appliweb.net/jsh) and I've updated them quite a lot. It now supports (among other things) quitting an application by closing it's frame window, etc...
If echidna is back on track again, I would be happy to give you my changes to merge again, so that I can use the regular echidna package...
