I use EPIC for perl development for about three years and like it, since in eclipse, everything can be integrated, and the debugger is pretty good. Well, due to the nature of perl, epic doesn't support as many features as for java, especially in refactoring. Especially, I like the integration of perlcritic, warnings, perltidy and the templates. Before I used emacs (and still use it for on-the-fly stuff), but for bigger projects I only use eclipse with epic under Windows and Linux.
