  • Great little program to run old 32 bit software on a 64bit machine. Ease of use may be a little difficult for first time users, may take a little time to familiarise yourself with the software. The performance is fantastic and the graphics are excellent. There are lots of tweaks and enhancements for advanced users.
  • Grand thanks!

how could I get a copy of this game?
  • I was troubling with someold games. They was running in some kind of full screen but there was frame and it was laggy. Solved with this program in few tries.
  • This program is great for playing older pc games in a window, especially for streaming! Highly recommend! Newest version works better than I expected for Lego star wars complete saga!

  • I tried this program for the GOG version of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and it works wonderfully. I did have to make an adjustment to the Oddworld launcher for this program to work with it, specifically turning off "16 bit color" in the compatibility settings. Also, a Youtube video helped get the DxWnd settings correct for this game. I see the need for better ease of use, instructions, or whatever. The settings are a beast! But regardless, a HUGE thank you to the developers of DxWnd and all your hard work.

  • THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I've been struggling to find a solution for running a commercial version of X-Plane 7.61 under Windows 10 and this app solved my 2 week trial and error search. I had a computer die and had to build a new one and wanted to use Windows 10 not XP like our sim was designed for. We have a lot of custom hardware and therefore can't upgrade to a newer version of X-Plane, so I just had to find a solution.
  • A brilliant tool to run old games the way you want. And the support is amazing.
  • This is really an essential program for gamers. very easy to use. I love it
  • An amazing tool with an excellent support from Developers!
  • Essential tool for remaining games that are forever stuck in uncommon limbo. For example W95/98 era games that just refuse to run on modern OS but without any community patches since the fan base has long since perished or on life support at best. Or they run natively but with borderline acceptable glitches that are not inconvenient enough to warrant a community involvement. Personally I only found it useful for Premier Manager 97/98/99 where DxWnd was successful at fixing more or less full-screen color corruption issues, making them fully playable as a result. It's not the best at being user-friendly regarding manual configuration. There are plenty of hard-core options and for most of them you have to be tech savvy to understand what they do. Although it comes with detailed manual and includes hundreds of game specific pre-configured profiles so hassle is reduced to a minimum.
  • Successfully to run Rich4 and DiabloII . I love this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • The developer of this project keeps suppprting this program and such helps to update it with new features for meeting our requirements. It can run almost any old DirectX, GDI, OpenGL game and also has WinMM emulation. It also has it's setting to toggle between windowed, borderless and fullscreen modes. Custom wrappers are also supported to be hooked through DxWnd.

  • Required.
  • Just perfect
  • Documentation is included with DxWnd itself, just look in the help folder after extraction, or else use the Help menu item in DxWnd (just HTML files). There is a very, very steep learning curve with the amount of options available. The included documentation is essential, without it, you wouldn't even know what 90% of the options are meant for. DxWnd can make practically any game/application that is fullscreen go into windowed mode (even the most stubborn ones!; e.g. Chicken Invaders 1). A fantastic frame limiter for non-D3D and D3D games, windower, CD audio fixes etc, a great package.
  • Outstanding! My old game program from Win98 era now works, after trying everything else for 2 days. 1. Download, 2. Unpack with Winzip, 3. Open DxWnd.exe file, see blank screen, wonder what to do, focus on HELP message, 4) Help says "drag and drop your program exe file onto blank screen", 5) Program works. Just couldn't be easier. Looks like the program does a lot of other things. It works, that's all I care about, so thank you. PS: zero annoyances attached to this program.

  • I was recommended this program to get some old games working but I am unable to get it to do anything, there is also no documentation on how to use it.
  • I was recommended this program to get some old games working but it was extremely difficult to figure out and I received help from the steam community. Documentation on how to use this seems nonexistent.
  • A lot more powerful and compatible than its alternatives. Helped me to run countless old games on Windows 10 - easily.
  • Required for an enterprise desktop ;)
