  • Followup: RE: Thoughts about the Splitter Operation

Sounds great. That's exactly what I was talking about...the component splitter. I look forward to seeing these in future releases and testing them out. I can definately test out the pump curves. I deal with pumping systems on a daily basis. Would you be including the capability to generate a system curve as well or would the pump curve simply be for basic pressure at a given flow, impeller size...

  • Followup: RE: Aqueous Simulation

I have not dealt with the electrolyte packages or LIFAC or LIQUAC. I would like to learn more about them as they sound like the way to go. I can check out my thermodynamics texts and see what I can uncover. Sounds like some good reading. Let me know if I can help.

I sent you the file. I hope this helps out.

  • Followup: RE: Not working on Linux

Hi Chris, how are you? Unfortunately I haven't tested DWSIM on Linux since then. What is the current status of VB support in mono? Maybe I can try something in the following days and tell you what happens.

  • Followup: RE: Aqueous Simulation

Actually it is not a very difficult thing to do. In order for it to work, we would need a specialized database, a property package capable of handling electrolytes and solids (precipitate) and some extra specific unit operations, like filters, precipitators and so on. I already have some components in a database and the thermo package is partially coded. Do you know about LIFAC and LIQUAC...

  • Followup: RE: Thoughts about the Splitter Operation

It does make a lot of sense, Adam. You're talking about the "Component Splitter", which does exactly what you described (and other things too). I was planning to include this unit op in the 1.6 release, but unfortunately it will have to wait a little more time. The Component Splitter and the Gibbs Reactor are the only ops which are missing from DWSIM in order to complete the basic set of...

Adam, please send me your simulation file and the results you've got in HYSYS so I can use them as a reference while trying to correct the calculation in DWSIM. My email is danielwag at gmail.com. Maybe the HTC calculation method is different. In fact, the Pipe code is actually older than DWSIM itself... I just put it in there and did some tests, but that was a looong time ago.

  • Followup: RE: English Translations

Note that the vazio that already exists in the table should probably just have the marks added before and after in order to make the translation work.

  • English Translations

I noticed in the source code that there is a table of strings for the English translation. There are a few that need to be added that I have come across so far: Tabela = Table Vazio = Empty Correntes = Current Operacoes Unitarias = Unit Operations Reatores = Reactors Operacoes Logicas = Logical Operations I think this is a simple matter of inserting these strings into the...

  • Followup: RE: Not working on Linux

Hi, Has there been any further success with using Mono since these earlier posts in 2008? Thanks Chris.
