The DWI name has always been a tad unfortunate, and so its been given a new name: "Estron". This is a Welsh word for "foreign" or "alien", and represents the idea that it can translate from one format (e.g. SQL) to another (e.g. a GUI) Estron now lives on a new website: http://estron.alioth.debian.org/ and is being maintained there. In particular, it has now been ported to qof2!
DWI, Data With Interaction, is a framework for developing sophisticated data-driven, SQL database-backed (ORM) applications in the Gnome environment, using the Glade GUI designer. Version 0.6.0 converts the build system to use automake, thus simplifying installation. Support for GLib GObjects and QOF objects have been added, and an expanded example, the "Bicycle Ride Calorie Calculator" has been added. The SQL backends have been restructured to load the correct backend only at runtime, thus removing install difficulties.
