Druantia - Virtual Trip to Mars

I've downloaded and installed the package.
Right now, world wind is having some server problems (actually since the program has been announced on some large news group and everybody has tried it...), so you can't get a very detailled view unless you download the extra packages. I also haven't managed to get a true 3D view of the terrain.

My opinion: From what I can see, they map highly detailed satellite data to a sphere, but they don't use any *continuous* LOD to achieve this. I've downloaded the detailed Landsat images of the alps. This is quite impressive. Landsat goes down to something like 15m in resolution IIRC. The data is split into patches of different resolution that are downloaded from the server (or from harddisk if the package is installed). But I can't see any continuous LOD, so for our purposes I think it's not very useful.
