ExtND--Ext for Notes and Domino--aims to develop a framework that will extend Domino, based on EXT to provide an easy to use, well structured, well documented, tool that will yield a highly finished product in a matter of days, not weeks.

We have had a great response and active community thanks to our association with the Ext project. Going forward, we will be posting all of our news and updates there as we believe this will serve the community better. Having one site for Ext.nd news and releases will mean one place to keep your eye on. It also means no redundant annoucements for us and we have been granted SVN space for our builds on the server (soon to be available). We hope you'll join us, signing up is free and easy. Check it out! Hope to see you there! http://extjs.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=9b7ee1dcd1eb104097389c0479d19f6c&f=15
Rich posted our first alpha release this week! This was made available earlier this week via our official forum: http://extjs.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=15 You can see the thread and grad the alpha here: http://extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6829 It's just a few working pieces but there is a lot going on under the hood yet to be exploited. Feel free to have a play. The suggestion is that derivative works might be made from this has been floated and as Rich notes on the forum, please read the license and make sure you are covered as the Ext.nd inclueds Jack Slocum's source as well as our own. Have fun!
Bruce Elgort of OpenNTF.org fame and the Taking Notes podcast will be demonstrating the Ext.nd alpha at ILUG, in Dublin, Ireland on 5/24-5/25/2007. Team members Jack Ratcliff, Rich Waters and Eli Harris have built upon Jake Howlett's directory demo using some of the modified Ext code base to produce a stunning Ext.nd demo in less than a week - really only hours of effort. You can view the demo for yourself here: http://openntf.org/extnd/names.nsf/main.html ... and for contrast (java applets included) you can see what the same database looks like *without * Ext.nd: http://openntf.org/extnd/names.nsf Rich is working on making the alpha presentable for you to download and hopes to have it soon. Stay tuned!
Jack Slocumb has added us to the Ext forums with our own sub forum. Seems the Ext.nd project is gathering a following and we needed a centralized place that made logical sense. You can visit it and post comments, suggestions or questions. Thanks! http://extjs.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=15
What started with a couple of energized people has already grown into a team of 10+. So, as of March 14th, we have undertaken to get more organized and now have an Architect (Rich Waters), Senior Developer (Eli Harris), Tool Developer (Tim Tripcony) and Project Manager on board as well as 6 other highly skilled individuals who are eager to contribute. Our first team meeting established these roles and we have started targeting some short-term milestones. We should soon have dates to share for when we will have working drafts of project documents to begin circulating. The core team is presently taking the approach of putting together a solid draft of our design documents before we present them for public consideration. We believe this will help us put more meat on the table and make better use of any peer review time we may be so fortunate to have. A more comprehensive high-level abstract should be available soon as well. In the mean time, if you have questions about the project please contact the Project Manager and defacto PR man, Jerry Carter ( jecarter2 at users.sourceforge.net .)
