  • Area calculator

Hello, sometimes I have to calculate an area of a part of an image (SEM, TEM images, etc...). I could export the coordinate points in another program or do the calculation by hand, but I think that a "calculate area" function would be very nice and useful! To have an idea of what I mean, here there is an example working for Google maps...

  • Convert OHLC bar stock chart to data

How does one convert a Open, High, Low, Close (OHLC) stock chart (png image) to OHLC data so that it can be imported into a stock charting package. I have tried but to no avail.

  • Find center of arc

I an analyzing many files with circular features and would like to have the program determine the location of the center of the circle or arc relative to the "Axes" coordinates and make the point available in the geometery table. The circle or arc could be defined automatically or manually. If the curve was automatically filled then the points could be "Best fit" to a circle...

  • Followup: RE: command line options problems (engauge V4.1)

Hi all, I have stumbled upon the same problem as jmbaud when trying to use the command line option "-axis". The coordinate limits are -0.2 < x < 6.5, -1.2 < y < 1.2 and I have used the axis command line option like this: engauge -axes -0.2 6.5 -1.2 1.2 -import sinus.png I have also experimented with quotes and such, out of fear that e.g. "-0.2" would...

  • How do I keep settings between pictures?

Hi all, I would like to digitize several diagrammes, but want to avoid the shore of defining the axes, "and all that" for each new picture. There is a command line flag for x- and y-axis max and min, but all the rest? The "discretize method selection" for instance (Settings --> Discretize...) is somewhat odd for my diagrams. I would really hate having to preprocess...

  • Followup: RE: TIFF Import and Other Proposed Enhancements

Hi Kevin, Thanks for your interest in and suggestions for Engauge. Development isn't very active for a while now, so don't hold your breath. But contributed improvements can be included quite timely. Responding to your proposed enhancements: 1. While it seems quite easy to integrate libtiff, the code now uses generic qt methods to read the images. That is a neat approach and there will be...

  • TIFF Import and Other Proposed Enhancements

Hello Folks, I would like to make use of Engauge for digitizing images of well logs. These are extremely large images (hundreds of megapixels, typical dimensions 2000 pixels by 100000 pixels), and contain what is essentially a very long strip chart recording of various geophysical properties recorded in a wellbore versus depth. I have briefly looked into using Engauge for this purpose, and...
