Hello everybody,
I keep tweaking my magazine module and now came about a question about searching. As you will remember I have a main module "Magazine" and child module "Articles"ยด (same as in CD and tracks).
If I search e.g. for something in an articles title (that is, something from the child module), the result I get is a list of magazines (that is parent data). Is there a way of...

Hi Robert,
You were right, the "person.jar" file is present in the modules folder. I deleted it, but when you want to add field in the contact module this "person.jar" file is automaticaly created in the module folder, and then my added field does not appear after restart of Datacrow.
So, i uninstalled Datacrow (puting a cross in the box: force the deletion of C:\Program files\Data Crow...

When you click on a sub-module-item which is being displayed in an 'top-module'-item, now opens a window so you can edit the information of the sub-module-item. I think it would be better for the user experience to directly go to the quick-view tab of the item if you click on it and to open the window where you can edit the data by double-clicking. Together with feature mentioned on...

Hi Judith,
To change the way an item is represented you will have to indicate which field actually represents the item. This can be done by changing the field setings for this module (settings > general field settings), Mark the field that should eb used to represent the item as 'descriptive'. This is actually something that should be changed in the module creation wizard as I have heard more...

Hi Philippe,
I think this is caused by a left over from an old installation. In the past there was an issue of having a module called 'person.jar' and 'contactperson.jar'. These can be found in the modules folder. If the person.jar file exists there, delete it. Restart Data Crow and you should be fine.
Please ket me know whether this solves your issue so that I can adopt this for the next...

The possibility to directly view related items of an item in a sub-module (e.g. actors, or directors) directly in the quick-view-tab or in a special "related items"-tab.
This would make it easier to make a 'journey' through your database (e.g. in order to search a movie you'ld advise to a friend).

If you select a field in the "charts"-tab which contains no data, you get a message. But after clicking "OK" all the drop-down menus in the charts-tab are disabled, so you cannot select a correct field anymore. I work with DC 3.8.2.

Hello,
1 .1 If you didn't create the fields when creating the article module, you have to create them first with module/alter-module wizard etc ... (reboot needed to have changes kept).
1.2 If you've already created the shields for the articles module when you created it, you only have to :
1 Go the the module pannel on the left, click on the magazine module, and then you should see...
