+ a mechanism for server side method invocation + Collection bulk operations done on server side, for efficiency + Collection view classes not persistent + shutdown used to fail when security is enabled due to login callbacks not properly unexported : fixed + AdminUI close menu item disabled when no open connection + connection.create() disallowed in read-only
databeans is a new, fully object oriented persistence framework for java ; distributed, transactional, garbage collected, with persistent versions of the Collection classes, XML export/import, security, it aims to replace (not just complement) relational db solutions. Version 2.1 provides a mechanism for server side method invocation to increase efficiency of, among others, Collection bulk operations. Other changes are : Collection view classes made not persistent, a shutdown bug fix, minor code and UI improvements. Still needs some real world confrontation but quite stable and ready for tests. A getting started file is included, with details on how to setup a server and launch the admin UI. Software package available at the project summary page. http://sourceforge.net/projects/databeans
