Fully automated web installer and updater for Chromium browser.
Chromium Updater helps you to download and install the Chromium browser on your hard drive. In addition, this program offers more options like a background service for updates, a recovery function for user data and you will be able to switch between 32-bit and 64-bit trunks. Following operating systems are supported: Windows 10, Windows 8.x, 7 and Vista (32-/64-bit).
- Switch between 32-bit and 64-bit trunks.
- Customize trunk source for your own releases. (e.g. Snapshots)
- Be always up to date by Update Service.
- Set your desired Update Interval.
- Create a backup of your user data.
Lean and mean. Helps a lot.
It works really well. Have tried different Chromium Updater. Finally settled on this. I have few questions. 1. How do I change 32 or 64 bit during installation. It seems I can't change it during installation. Only after installation I can change 32 or 64. But by that time if I am using 64 bit OS, Chromium is already stored in C:Programfiles(x86) folder. 2. If I install directly on C:Programfiles, it still not updating or checking for chromium when I try to check latest release. So right now I am using 32bit Chromium on 64 bit OS. If there is a way to overcome this please let me know. Do I need to change updater to look for 64 bit chromium and to feed the corresponding link? Thanks Nellai
I've used this piece of software in the past without any troubles at all, but coming back to it today, I'm encountering a bit of a problem. Whenever I try to install or check for updates, I'm told that the "Connection could not be established." Otherwise, if going on past experience and the assumption that this is just little quick-fix problem, this program does its job :) !
Worked until one update failed to finish properly, Now I keep getting "Update package damaged" error no matter what I try. Also, even if it fails to update it deletes part of my existing Chromium installation. Very annoying.
