    # cron_backup_1.2_without_mutt # 1) Backup of both MYSQL database & M_images dir (FOR TESTING), and send the compressed files # to an email address using "uuencode + mail" instead of "mutt". However, "mutt" is # always preferred. Only use this if your web server DO NOT have "mutt" installed. # 2) The "mail" command may not be able to handle large data file size. # 3) The cron_uudecode.sh script "uudecode" the data. See the script for more info. # # cron_backup_1.1 # 1) Backup of both MYSQL database & image directory, and send the compressed files # to an email address using "mutt". # 2) Backup files on web host server to be kept for one day, to be replaced during # next run. # 3) Implemented status.txt file for use as a flag during testing. Also acts as a # semaphore control, if program takes longer than one minute to execute. # # cron_backup_1.0 # 1) Basic backup of MYSQL database and send the gzip file to an email address using # "mutt".

  • Automated cron backup thru email - cron_backup_1.2

This release backup both the MySQL database & M_images dir (FOR TESTING), and send the compressed files to an email address using "uuencode + mail" instead of "mutt". However, "mutt" is always preferred. You may also uncomment some statements to use mutt for this version. cron_backup will work with Joomla!, Mambo, PostNuke, WordPress and etc. The backup commands and strategies are the same. This is about the lowest-level (Operating System) backup strategy around.
