Cracx allows you to crack archive passwords of any encryption using 7-zip, WinRAR or a custom command, via Brute Force or Dictionary attack.

Note: You must NOT use this program with files you don't have the rights to extract/open/use them!

Currently, the program requires a current version of either 7-zip or WinRAR to be installed, but you can also use it to bruteforce basically anything that is executably via command-line with custom parameters.
On an i7 CPU, it runs approximately 30 combination tests per second.

Feel free to make suggestions or contribute by implementing features and translating the tool into your native language!

Features

  • Multi-language (English / German / more to come)
  • 7-zip, WinRAR and custom command line support
  • Bruteforce: variable length and charsets
  • Dictionary file import
  • Save & load of last used parameters
  • Planned: time & statistics display, progress saving, more languages...

  • It really doesn't do diddly! It takes FOREVER and does nothing but consume CPU and memory!! IT'S EXTREMELY SLOW!! I don't understand what some of the 4 or 5 stars rave reviews are on here for? Were they written by Mr. Reimer's relatives? I use Windows 10 64bit with intel i7 multi-core. I created a simple .txt file with some random text in it. Used latest 7z to zip it up as a password protected file with a simple password of 123. Launched CracX-0.7.1.jar, in the droplist options, selected: Archive software: 7z, Archive software path: "C:\Program Files\7-Zip" Archive to be extracted: ~path\testfile.7z Brute Force: 1 to 3 Charset: aA thru zZ 0-9 (the default out of the box) Total combo: guestimated as 242235 Wow! How many centuries is that going to take? Only when I edited & narrowed down the charset to 0-9; it was able to crack it as 123 after 2 full minutes!
  • Wow, major memory leak. Memory usage just climbs. I would not call this beta. It is more like alpha. The performance is terrible. You need to write a multithreaded program that uses all cores to 100%. This thing just uses 50% of a single core CPU.
  • Do you want to regain lost 7Z file password with easy manner then just free download Atom TechSoft 7Z password recovery cracker software that is really workable solution to recover lost 7Z file password and crack file within minutes so why are you waiting for just use ATOM TECHSOFT Password Recovery software and recover password atomtechsoft.com/7z-password-recovery.html
  • It's pretty good. Only one problem in here. The password searching is getting slower at a time. Maybe add some Cleaning RAM command each 5 minutes searching to get a stable performance.
  • The only 'good' archive cracker for 7-Zip that I've seen. The only thing it lacks is a custom 7-zip executable, one that doesn't kill itself after a failed attempt at unpacking. As that would most likely increase the performance of cracking the password. (Launching executables takes about half a second.)
