Country Information Database contains names of countries, FIPS code, ISO2 and ISO3 tags, name of Capital, region information, name and code of currency used, time lag GMT, type of time format (STD, DST for Day Light Saving Time) and languages spoken.

Version 1.0 of the Country Information Database did not differentiate between the Daylight Saving Time (DST) for the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. Countries with are located in he Southern Hemisphere and use DST are now represented by "DSTS". It was necessary to reference countries by their location in the hemisphere to compute the correct time.
